You have read the Signs of Problem Gambling and realize that they apply to you. You realize you have a problem and have made a honest decision that you have to quit, or you may feel that you need more information.
With the increase in legalized gambling there has also been an increase in the types of help for problem gamblers. Some of the avenues to address problem gambling in Alberta are:
- Treatment Centres
- Day Programs
- Individual Councilling
- Gamblers Anonymous
- Self Help/Internet
The PGRN does not endorse individual programs, everyone is an individual and what works for one person may not work for the next, a person may have a successful recovery using one of the above or they may need a combination of 2 or more programs. See the "Problem Gambling Services in Alberta" page for a list and contact information of groups or institutions that can offer individuals help in recovery.
